Q:

I used the RemySoft 3-Step System a couple of times, but it didn’t seem to be much different from other products I have used in the past. What is all of the hype about?

A:
The RemySoft System was formulated to be highly effective at maintaining color, strength, and softness in processed hair. Although you will likely notice an increase in softness the first time you use the Protective Sealer, the full benefits of the RemySoft System (color retention, softness, and reduced shedding) will be seen after 6-8 weeks of continuous use.

Q:
What makes Blue Max Antioxidant Shampoo and Conditioner different from other sulfate-free/color safe shampoos?
A:
First off, all RemySoft products are custom formulated by a fellow hair wearer, with the specific needs of hair wearers in mind. We don’t use any “stock” (generic) formulas that are re-branded with our name.
With that said, one of the things that makes our shampoo so unique is that it is formulated with rich conditioning and detangling agents to help protect and pre-condition the hair during washing.
The real secret though, is in the use of several exotic fruit and berry extracts that contain high amounts of antioxidants. You have probably heard of the health benefits associated with fruits such as the acai berry which help to eliminate free radicals that cause aging. Hair is made of cells that are as susceptible to oxidation as skin cells and other types of cells. RemySoft is the first product line specifically for hair replacement to utilize this new technology.

Q:
What makes Blue Max Protective Sealer different from other “softening agents”?
A:
Blue Max Protective Sealer is a silicone based product made specifically for processed hair. Used after conditioning, it serves to lock in moisture to keep hair soft and conditioned. Other “softening solutions” claim to enhance the effects of your existing conditioner. Blue Max actually seals the surface of the hair creating a barrier which locks in essential moisture, keeping your hair soft, strong, and tangle free.

Q:
Are all RemySoft products safe to use on my natural growing hair?
A:
Yes! Although they were primarily developed to help retain softness, strength, and color in processed hair, all RemySoft products are safe for use on natural growing hair. They can be used with all hair types, but are especially beneficial for use on dry and/or color treated hair.

Q:

You mentioned above that these products were created by a fellow hairwearer. Who actually created the RemySoft system?

A:
Jon Robertson created the original formula for the Blue Max Protective Sealer, and he enlisted the help of a team of professional chemists to develop the Moisturizing Shampoo and Antioxidant Conditioner. Click here to read the full story.

Q:

I heard that products that contain silicones are bad for hair. Is this true?

A:
Absolutely not. In fact, silicones not only soften and condition hair, but they also protect it from damage due to heat and humidity. The really great benefit to using products containing silicone is that they form a temporary waterproof seal that locks in moisture and prevents harmful chemicals from entering the hair shaft, yet washes out when you shampoo.

Q:

Everyone says to avoid hair products that contain alcohol. But I also heard that some alcohols are good for hair. How do I know what is good and what is bad?

A:
Try to avoid products that contain “drying” alcohols such as SD Alcohol, SD Alcohol 40, and Alcohol Denat.
Most other alcohols that are commonly used in hair care products are “fatty” alcohols, and are actually good for the hair. Depending on the product, their purpose may be as a surfactant, emulsifier, stabilizer, opacifier, or thickening agent. Examples of these include behenyl, cetyl, cetearyl, and stearyl alcohols. These are not drying alcohols, and are considered safe for use on processed hair.

Q:

I have heard many great reviews for the RemySoft line of products, but I am very careful what I apply to the hair, especially my lace base units. Are your products safe for use on lace?

A:
Absolutely! Our products were formulated specifically for the hair replacement industry. As with any conditioner or protectant, you should avoid applying these directly to the knots, but aside from taking this basic precaution, no special care is needed. Not only will our products NOT cause shedding due to loosening of the knots, but they will actually DECREASE shedding that is normally caused by products that gradually deplete the hair of precious moisture.

Q:

Blue Max Antioxidant Conditioner contains Behentrimonium Methosulphate.
I thought all of your products were sulfate free?

A:
Behentrimonium Methosulphate is not actually a sulfate, it is a conditioning agent. For more information on conditioner ingredients, click here.
